HELIOPSIS HELIANTHOIDES ORIOLE SINGLE YELLOW - G0513A -
Shipping from October 2026
Heliopsis helianthoides 'Oriole', also known as false sunflower or ox-eye, is a superb flowering herbaceous perennial prized for its long flowering season, its hardiness and its bright golden-yellow blooms. This variety produces masses of single, deep yellow daisy-like flower heads that open throughout the summer, attracting bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects.
Heliopsis 'Oriole' forms vigorous clumps with upright, branching stems, generally reaching a height of around 80–120 cm. It is ideal for creating drifts of colour in beds, mixed borders and naturalistic gardens. The deep green foliage remains decorative outside the flowering season, giving green spaces an elegant and resilient presence.
It is a very easy plant to grow: it prefers a position in full sun and fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Once established it is tough and tolerates short dry spells. Thanks to its excellent hardiness it withstands harsh winter temperatures and is suited to cultivation across a wide range of climate zones.
